Kosovo: vehicle age, conformity and registration
Selected rules for ordinary used passenger cars shipped from Korea and first registered in Kosovo. These general requirements do not establish eligibility for a particular vehicle or buyer. Temporary imports, museum vehicles and other special regimes are outside this review.

Kosovo Customs states that cars older than ten years cannot be imported and that imported cars must meet at least the Euro 4 emissions standard. Confirm the exact vehicle's age and accepted emissions evidence before purchase.
Confirm the vehicle's homologation route
Used imports require vehicle conformity approval (homologation) unless exempt. The statutory exemption covers used vehicles imported from EU states, Switzerland or Norway that were permitted regular road use there. Do not assume this exemption applies to a shipment from Korea; establish the applicable individual-approval procedure before shipping.
Prepare for first registration in Kosovo
First registration requires customs clearance, homologation unless exempt, a technical-condition certificate no older than 30 days and insurance issued no more than 15 days earlier. Foreigners with temporary or permanent residence permits may register after meeting customs obligations; the registration term is linked to the residence permit's expiry.

Vehicle origin, ownership and technical records
Prepare the foreign vehicle registration book, proof of ownership and relevant technical records for approval. For first registration, a missing original vehicle book may be replaced by the Customs-confirmed copy used for clearance together with a police loss report. Additional approval evidence may be requested.
Local registration documents
Prepare customs-payment evidence, the applicable approval certificate, technical certificate, insurance, identification or residence documentation, and municipal-tax payment unless exempt. A valid licence for the category is generally required; an adult owner without one may appoint a user by notarised authorisation. Authorities retrieve linked records electronically, but the technical certificate also requires a physical copy.

- Confirm how the ten-year limit is calculated for the exact vehicle and what evidence establishes its Euro 4 compliance. No automatic model-year cutoff or equivalence with Korean emissions certification is stated.
- Confirm the current technical standards, steering configuration, required modifications and authorised approval route for the exact vehicle. This review does not certify a Korean inspection provider or a Korea-specific homologation exemption.
- Museum vehicles, temporary imports, diplomatic cases, unusual ownership arrangements and other exemptions require their own assessment. Meeting the age and emissions thresholds alone does not guarantee import approval or registration.
- Vehicle-specific duties, taxes, statutory inspection or registration charges, freight and delivery times are not quoted.
